Prior to completing a five-year sequence of accredited tertiary study comprising coursework and practical placements, Siobhan worked with young people in residential care with Marist Youth Services between May 2007-October 2013, with the FaCS helpline between October 2013-August 2015 and has been employed as a domestic violence Counsellor within Family & Community Services since August 2015.
Siobhan is currently completing a 1-year supervised practice internship at Associated Psychology Practice in order to gain full registration as a Psychologist. As part of this process, Siobhan participates in weekly clinical supervision with a Senior Psychologist and regularly attends professional development sessions.
Siobhan is available to provide individual treatment to children (age 5 plus), adolescents and adults for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, social skills development and interpersonal relationship issues on a Thursday and Friday between 10am to 5pm.
As a Provisional Psychologist, Siobhan is not eligible to provide services under Medicare. However, there are many potential benefits to patients who see a provisional Psychologist including up to date knowledge of research and best practice and reduced session fees as outlined below:
· Reduced session fee of $65 (no rebate available) is significantly less than the out of pocket cost of seeing a fully registered Psychologist under a care plan
· Concession rate of $50 per session (no rebate available) for pensioners or current health care card holders who schedule appointments during school hours (concession rate only available to patients seeing provisional psychologist).
