– IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING COVID-19 AND COUNSELLING APPOINTMENTS –
Associated Psychology Practice Coronavirus Policy:
The coronavirus is on a lot of people’s minds at the moment and whilst we do not wish to increase anxiety, it is important to review the guidelines for how we should respond to this issue so that we all remain as healthy as possible.
As a practice, we will be asking any team members who are sick to remain at home. We will also be cleaning door knobs, taps, the EFTPOS machine, etc on a more regular basis.
To assist with limiting the potential spread of illness when you are attending face to face appointments, please do the following:
-on arrival at the practice use anti bacterial hand sanitiser at reception or wash your hands with liquid soap (in bathroom)
-use paper hand towel or tissues to hold lever when dispensing water from the water cooler
-dispose of any tissues, plastic cups or other packaging in the bins provided – do not leave them on coffee table in reception
-please limit the number of people attending appointments with you to reduce the number of people in the waiting area at any given time e.g. Limit to one adult to accompany school age clients, and where possible adults to attend alone
-please do not bring anyone to the practice with you who is unwell, has been in contact with someone with diagnosed Covid19 or been in a high risk area within the last 14 days.
In order to help maintain the health and well being of everyone attending the clinic we ask that you DO NOT attend a face to face appointment if:
-you have returned from an overseas location such as China, Italy or Iran within the last 14 days as per government recommendations
-you have been in direct contact with an individual diagnosed with Covid 19
-you feel unwell or if you have been asked to quarantine If you have symptoms of cold or flu including fever, dry cough or respiratory difficulties
Please note we WILL NOT be providing face to face sessions to any clients who present to the practice who are visibly unwell out of respect for the health and safety of other people at the practice including other clients, our admin team, clinicians and their families.
Whilst we will not be charging cancellation fees for clients who are unable to attend face to face appointments due to reasons listed above. We do ask that you
give us as much advance notice as possible if you are unable to attend for reasons listed above as we may be able to provide you with psychological support via phone or Zoom (which is a secure online platform), or offer the appointment to another individual on our waitlist.
Telehealth session options:
Where possible we will offer clients who have to cancel due to illness, who are in high risk groups or whose clinicians are self isolating, sessions via telephone or Zoom. Zoom is a secure online platform, which does not require you to install any software. You simply click on the zoom link sent to you via email or sms by APP at the time of your appointment. Zoom works on smartphones, tablets, and computers. If you are having a session via telephone or Zoom please ensure you are in a quiet, private place to avoid distractions.
As Medicare does not currently allow us to provide Medicare rebates for telehealth sessions (as we are not a bulk billing practice), we will be reducing the session fee by $50 for telehealth appointments for clients with mental health care plans at this time. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to call the practice on 4722-3137 or via email at email@example.com.
